Kevin and Jen Hanson, along with their 4 boys (Owen, Wade, Reid and Drew) joined our team in 2018 with open hearts and minds to serve as full time missionaries here at the ranch. The Hansons feel as though God has been preparing them for this opportunity their entire lives.
The Hansons’ sole focus on serving the lost and the brokenhearted is much greater than what they do – it is who they are. Ten years ago, God rescued them from a life of chaos that began much earlier in their lives. Hurts, habits, hang-ups and a long series of poor decisions led Kevin and Jen down a path that nearly ended not only their marriage, but their lives as well. What many would describe as a total failure, God used to build something beautiful and amazing in this family.
For over the past decade, the Hansons have been dedicated to one goal – sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible. This new purpose in life led them to full time ministry positions at their home church in Phoenix, AZ (Christ’s Church of the Valley) where God completed the work of equipping them to be sent out to impact the world.
Kevin and Jen share multiple roles here at the ranch including mentoring students, business and office administration, physical and outdoor education, cooking and more. Some of the Hansons’ favorite things to do are inviting students into their home for “Staff Houses;” participating in swimming, hiking and other outdoor adventures with the students; building community; and enjoying fellowship with the other staff families.
The Hansons are eternally grateful that God has allowed them to serve as full time missionaries and for the amazing team of supporters that are literally making the impossible possible for the troubled teenage boys at the ranch and their families.
