IN KIND GIFTS:
This ministry feels blessed to receive “Gifts in Kind” from generous donors, such as vehicles, materials, and services.
Do you want to help with our various needs? Pick up an item from our wish list next time you’re at the store! Hosting a donation drive at your church, office, or club is a great way to support our ministry. Below you will find links to three wish lists. Our general wish list (Flying H Donations) includes all the items our School and Program use the most. This list also includes items for boys (like winter gloves), School Supplies (computers, technology needs, class materials), general supplies, and more.
Our monthly needs lists are our top needs for that month. Finally, our Flying H Staff wish list includes items the staff parents and kids need, gift certificates for the staff, and more. If you’re ordering from our Amazon wish list, use Amazon Smile and they will donation a portion of your purchase back to our ministry. Using Amazon Smile is a great way to make your donation go even farther!

From mentoring Ranch residents in life and professional skills, to helping kids with their homework, to volunteering around the ranch to make life a bit nicer for these children, no gift of time is too small.
We recently were blessed to have retired teacher Mike Nyberg serve our school by teaching a class Monday-Thursday at our on-campus school. If you are a retired teacher and would like to serve our young men this is a great opportunity to serve.
Helping our boys improve academically is key a component of our success matrices here at the Flying H. Tutors contribute significantly to the success.
The Ranch always has improvement projects going on and we are always looking for people willing to help out. Whether it helping to paint walls, to helping with the horses and other outdoor projects, we can keep you active.
HAVE A SPECIAL SKILL?
Let us know what your passion is, there may be a fit for you here at the Flying H. We are always interested in speaking with people who have a special talent they are willing to share. Music, art, crafts, cultural programs, we want to speak with you.
For more information about how you can help as a volunteer, please contact us or call our office at: (509) 658-2990
What would we do without them? Therefore, occasionally we like to highlight some of their accomplishments and thank them profusely. When our on-staff carpenter moved on to another ministry twenty years ago, volunteers filled in the gap for building construction, remodel, and repair. Pretty much all of our capital projects have been completed with major help from volunteers.
Who are these people who give their vacations, weekends, and retirements to the Flying H? Currently, the SOWERS (Servants on Wheels Ever Ready) are in residence. Throughout the last 25 years the SOWERS have built, remodeled, repaired, reroofed, and repainted many of the ranch buildings.
Often these projects were/are outside of their professional skill level, but one person with know-how and the others with willing spirits made it all work. For many years the Nehemiah Servants (an adult & retiree group from Battle Ground, WA) donated their time and supplies to the ranch which we continue to enjoy the benefits of to this day.
We look forward to the George Fox College Serve Team each spring as they do whatever we ask them to do from digging post holes and splitting firewood to scraping buildings in preparation for painting.
Many church youth groups have come throughout the years hailing from CA to OR and WA. Again these kids are willing to get down and dirty to help out at the ranch. Another blessing of these groups is their interaction the boys. Often they provide devotionals for them as well as joining in table games, sports activities, and meal times.
Each year men from the Nile Valley (where we are located) treat our young men to weekends of boating and fishing; they just caught their limit of bass on the John Day River a couple of weeks ago. The boys and teachers were able to experience sailing on a large sail boat a few consecutive years because of the generosity of the boat owner/captain.
